EXAMINATION REGULATIONS AND CERTIFICATE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
All students must complete requirement for each year as well as satisfy the examination in year one before going to the next year in internediate and final programme. Workmanship practice is a compulsory subject in which student must obtain a pass in order to qualify for any certificate examination both in school and external examinations. The training certificate will show details of results as follows:
A - Distinction 70 and above
B - Very Good 60 - 69
C - Credit 50 - 59
D - Average 40 - 49
F - Fail Below 39
For a student to obtain distinction in workshop practice, such student must obtain not less than 70% in each workshop practice assignment. A candidate who scores less than 40% in not more than four papers will be given reference in those papers especially in the end of section and school diploma/examination. A candidate who scores less than 40% in more than four papers will be considered as failed. A candidate who fails class test shall repeat the class and must record not less than 85% class attendance before he qualifies to resit the examination. Any candidate who is referred in writing a paper(s) will retake the paper(s) at the end of July. A referred candidate who fails to pass the referred papers in two consecutive examinations will be considered as failed the subject. The highest grade to be awarded in any resit paper shall be 40%

This course is based purely on continuous assessment as stated below:
Any student who fails to satisfy the examiner by not scoring above 40% in each assessment shall not be promoted accordingly.
ATTENDANCE
Any student who fails to make 85% attendance will not be allowed to register for both craft training certificate examinations and the City & Guild/WASC Technical Examinations; except there is a genuine case for absence. Students are advised to inform their head of department whenever they are going to be absent from the school.

This programme is designed to make the trainees resourceful and employable in the hospitality industry, whereby they will be able to apply various methods and use kitchen equipments, including electrical appliances in the catering trade effectively.
